We have today received our first delivery of Geox Autumn/Winter 2010 stock.
There are some really funky colours this year, having browns and mustards, greys and coffees. we have mostly received the Savage style so far, in trainers and in boots. We all love the Geox Savage style as it has a big rubber toe guard and really good grips on the sole unit.
We have also received the Geox school shoe designs in Savage and William. Savage is a cool trainers style in black, and William is a smarter style. both are leather and run from sizes EU 26 to 34.

What a fun day we had yesterday... not!! Yesterday we had the delivery of 500 pairs of Start Rite School Shoes, thats 24 huge boxes in total!
On one side of the room it looked like we were being taken over by cardboard, and the other side of the room it looked we were stocking nothing but Start Rite. So, box by box we started unpacking and checking off the invoices, and even just a third of the way through we were tired, dirty and in a total mess!
The delivery had the usual school shoes from Start Rite, including Spin and Campbell for boys, and Trilogy and Trinity for girls, but also some of the new A/W 2010 styles which gave us a break for a few minutes to 'ooh' and 'ahh' over them.

It's my Dad's birthday today and my Mum's on Monday, so my brother has come up from Lancashire to spend some time with them. He paid a flying visit to the shop, for all of 10 minutes, wearing his new black oxford Converse.
So, with me in my navy oxford Converse and Stu in his, we could have been off the Converse advertising campaign. Or we could have been a couple of live models if we had stood in the Converse window display at the shop.
I am a little addicted to my Converse, they are just so comfy, and the navy ones go with everything, I even wear them with summer dresses. I've just taken home a pair of the red oxford Converse to add to my collection.

What a lovely hot summers day. The kids have put on their new Birkenstock sandals and are playing down by the river- I hope they don't fall in and get them soaked! I don't think cork and water are a match made in heaven.
It's certainly the weather to be breaking our the summer sandals and getting some fresh air to our feet. My well-loved Tango Red Birkenstocks from last summer have been dug out of the confines of the wardrobe, now all I need is a pedicure. I love Birkenstock sandals, especially the Gizeh style, they are so comfy! And I think that Birkenstocks just get comfier with age.

We're all a bit excited after Liz, Dena and I have just pre-booked our tickets to go and see the new Twilight film when it is released! We've read all the books and love the films, it's like the Twilight fan club at this shop!!
Another bit of good news; we spoke to Graham from Start Rite yesterday, who confirmed that he is sending us 500 pairs of our Start Rite school shoe range, which is less than half the collection. I know it's a bit early, and that the kids haven't broken up yet but it's good to get the Start Rite school shoes in the stockroom so we're not struggling with deliveries when Liz goes on holiday!!
So that means we can get the stock onto our website, www.dinkyshoes.com, early and that you can see what we have so far and purchase online!

Wedding shoe update... the Start Rite school shoes Dena took home for Michael fit! Hurrah...and he actually quite likes them! What a brilliant idea! So, now I have ordered the Start Rite Parka for Dena's dad too! Plus Liz's son Sam is going to his school Prom shortly, so that'll be three pairs of Parka sold... 3 cheers for Start Rite!!!

One of my colleagues, Dena, is getting married to Michael in 5 weeks, and we all know that organising a wedding is chaotic and stressful. However, we had a bit of a giggle this morning at my brainstorm!
In her quest to kit out the men in their suits, Dena has found some really smart Ted Baker shoes for her fiance. Smart, black, lace up, leather dress shoe...but at £75 (in the sale)it is alot to pay for one day! Then I remembered that Start Rite have 2 new School Shoes in their range called Parka and Brit Pop.... and Parka is almost identical to the pair Dena had put away in Ted Baker! (But the Start Rite shoes are about £40 cheaper!)
Start Rite have really taken the fashion and trends into account with their designs this year, and I can see Parka and Brit Pop being massive sellouts for Start Rite this Back to School season. Plus, they go up to a size adult UK 9 - so ideal as a dress shoe for guys too!
Dena is taking the Start Rite Parka home to try on her husband to be, lets hope they fit!
